Staying Safe Online
Online Safety is an important part of keeping children safe at Our Lady's School. Online Safety is taught extensively throughout the school year to all pupils.
We explain how to stay safe and behave appropriately online. Any online safety incidents are reported and logged according to the school’s Online Safety Policy.
We can only be successful in keeping children safe online by working with parents to provide a consistent message. It is important that parents feel comfortable explaining how to stay safe online to their children.
A great way to get started at home can be to complete an online behaviour family agreement, as well as making sure your children are aware of the CEOP reporting button.
CEOP (The Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre) delivers a multi-agency service dedicated to tackling the abuse and exploitation of children in the real and ‘e’ world. Often it is referred to as an online 999.
By clicking on the button, young people and parents can get advice on a range of issues such as viruses, hacking and dealing with bullying online.
